3. Confirm entry to competiton

Entry Guidelines, Conditions & Requirements: Entrants must comply with registration instructions when submitting their video.
Any Entry Material that is, in Guitar Idol’s sole discretion, obscene, profane, lewd, defamatory, contains any third party materials, or otherwise violates or infringes any copyright, trademark, logo, mark that identifies a brand or other proprietary right of any person living or deceased (including but not limited to rights of privacy or publicity or portrayal in a false light) or entity, or is otherwise objectionable, will not be considered and may disqualify the Entrant. Therefore, clothing worn in the video should not contain any visible logos, drawings, cartoons, phrases, trademarks or other third-party materials.
Entrants may not copy or otherwise plagiarize the Entry Material from any source.
Sponsor has the sole discretion to determine whether a video qualifies as an Entry.
All entries must be the sole, original guitar playing work of the Entrants. The use of backing tracks from any source is acceptable
Entrants and winners acknowledge and agree that their video entries become the property of Guitar Idol, which thereby has the right to edit, adapt, modify, reproduce, promote and otherwise use entries in any way it sees fit for promotion of the competition. 
Entrants must agree to the terms of Guitar Idol's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use and submit the online entry form as instructed.

Make sure to use an e-mail address you will keep until the end of the voting period so we will be able to contact you.
Guitar Idol is not responsible for any litigation resulting from the use of copyrighted material. Post at your own risk.
Clips that are clearly not legitimate videos will be discarded.
Participants can submit as many entries as they like.
If your video is rejected, please do not resubmit.
Guitar Idol reserves the right to reject any video it deems inappropriate or not up to standards of quality.
Eligibility: Open to anyone over 18 years of age 
  
Public Voting: All eligible Entries will be posted on the Contest Website for the public to view and rate. The voting process will determine the finalists. All entries must be completed and submitted by 23:59 p.m. GMT on October 10, 2010
  
Judging: The finalists will be judged on or about October 15, 2009, by a combination of public voting and a sponsor-selected panel of judges, based on the following criteria: Originality and Creativity, Skilled Performance and Overall Appeal. Judges' decisions are final with respect to all matters relating to the Contest. By participating, Entrants agree to the Official Rules and the decisions of the Judges, which shall be final and binding in all respects.

Guitar Idol finalists will perform with the Guitar Idol 2010 Live Finals in London. The performance will be videotaped and be the feature for usage on all Guitar Idol 2010 sponsor websites.

Prizes are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Guitar Idol. Prizes are not transferable. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor who reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion of prize) of equal or greater value in the event the prize is unavailable. All local taxes related to the prize, if any, are the responsibility of the Prize Winner (or his/her parent or legal guardian if a minor). All other expenses and costs not expressly listed above, including meals, travel, accommodation etc. are the Finalist’s sole responsibility. If a Finalist is unable to travel on dates specified by Sponsor, he/she will be disqualified and an alternate winner will be selected.

General Rules:. Winner and all Entrants, as a condition of Entry into the Contest, agree to release Sponsor and its Administrators, each of their respective agencies, parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies and each of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, members, employees, agents, assigns, and all others associated with the development and execution of this Contest (collectively the "Released Parties") from and against any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with submitting an Entry or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Contest, the receipt, ownership or use of prize awarded or any typographical or other error in these Official Rules or the announcement of offering of the prize. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use the finalist’s name, likeness and Entry/video for promotional purposes (including any possible public relations opportunities) without further compensation except where prohibited by law. By entering, Entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules. Entries will be declared to be made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of Entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet Access provider, Online Service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual that tampers or attempts to tamper with the Entry process or the operation of the Contest or the Website; violates the Official Rules; acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner; or acts with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. The Released Parties are not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, telephone failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications, whether caused by the sender, by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Contest which may limit the ability to participate, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the Entries in this Contest.

Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the Contest if it cannot be completed as planned for any reason, including but not limited to for infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures or corruption of any sort. In such event.

As a condition of entering the Contest, Entrant (or parent/legal guardian if Entrant is a minor in his/her state of residence) agrees that: 1) under no circumstance will Entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential or any other damages, other than for out-of-pocket expenses; 2) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and 3) any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys fees.
10. Conditions: Winner acknowledges that Guitar Idol has the right to edit, adapt, modify, reproduce, promote and otherwise use Entries in any way it sees fit in connection with advertising or promoting the Guitar Idol brand and products in any medium, throughout the world, in perpetuity.

No information regarding Entries or judging will be disclosed to any third party not involved in the conduct of the Contest. By submitting an Entry, you represent: (a) that the Entry is your own original work that has not previously been published or publicly shown or won a prize or award; and (b) any and all rights to the Entry belong to you and the Entry does not infringe, misappropriate or violate the rights of any third party. Further, any Entries that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, deems to be inappropriate for publication will not be considered

Guitar Idol 2010 is open to all nationalities and to guitarists of all ages and sizes!!! Please note that judges will look more favourably on original compositions rather than covers. Please ensure the video you enter is a genuine video of yourself playing the guitar, if you are miming you will soon get caught out if you are chosen to play live!
